Strayer Umiversity Grand Opening
Strayer
University hosted a grand opening at its new facility in the Teays Valley
Business & Industry Park at 100 Corporate Centre Drive in Scott Depot on
Wednesday, June 17th. Sondra F. Stallard, Ph.D.
was joined by West Virginia First Lady Gayle Manchin at the ceremonies attended
by about 100 persons. Also, Mary Elisabeth Eckerson, District Director for
Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito read a statement from Cong. Capito welcoming
Strayer Univeristy to Putnam County and West Virginia.
During the ceremonies, Stallard explained that Strayer University serves working
adults throughout the United States, “This area has people that are interested
in improving the condition of their lives and their communities.”
During
the celebration, members of Strayer’s staff gave guided tours of the facility.
In the photo to the left, Campus Dean Dr. Richard Bucher explains the facilities
and programs at the university to participants in one of the tours.
Strayer University has been in operation since 1892 and offers undergraduate and
graduate degree programs in business administration, accounting, information
technology, education and public administration. The University has more than
46,000 students nationwide with plans to open ten additional campuses in the
