Cap-and-Trade - Just Bad Policy!
The Waxman-Markley cap-and-trade bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives back in June is expected to be voted on by the U. S. Senate sometime after Labor Day. What the bill means to West Virginia and its residents is bad news according to The Heritage Foundation www.heritage.org. According to the foundation, consumers will be hard-hit by the restrictions on fossil fuel use between 2012 and 2035. “The prices of electricity and gasoline will rise sharply when compared to prices in a world without cap and trade. By 2035, Americans living in the state of West Virginia will see their electricity prices rise by $970.63 and their gasoline prices rise by $1.44 per gallon solely because of Waxman-Markley.”
What cap-and-trade actually amounts to is yet another TAX on consumers that will not only cost you money, but will cost jobs for all Americans while only making those who sell the “credits” money. I urge each of you to contact your Senators and urge them to vote NO on this anti-business, anti-constituent bill.
