Hurricane
City and Putnam County officials joined representatives of St. Mary’s Medical
Center at a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, October 21st , at the site of
the new St. Mary’s Family Care Center in Hurricane. The new facility will be
located on just off Hurricane Creek Road on Willow Tree Lane, directly above
City National Bank. The clinic is being developed to provide greater access to
primary care health services in Putnam and eastern Cabell County.
John Williams is the developer for the clinic and construction will begin
immediately. Plans are to have the clinic open in spring 2010.
Dr. Christina Webb, a resident of Scott Depot, is currently working for St.
Mary’s at a family care center in Huntington and will be the full-time physician
practicing at the Hurricane clinic. Dr. Webb will provide primary care for
patients of all ages.
The new clinic will have nearly 4,000 square feet and will employ approximately
4-5 people when open.
St. Mary’s has been serving Putnam County residents for 85 years and currently
has three family care centers in Cabell and Wayne Counties.
