John R. Wilson, Jr., Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Putnam
County Bank was named the 2010 Mayo Lester Award winner during the Putnam County
Chamber of Commerce annual dinner on January 29th at Wellington’s in Poca. The
Mayo Lester Community Service Award is given each year to honor volunteers who
have shown outstanding leadership in community building projects in Putnam
County. John was instrumental in helping to raise awareness in Putnam County
about the need for major school building improvements. The 2009 levy election
succeeded and allowed the county to raise funds to construct new educational
facilities throughout the county. Congratulations to John Wilson, 2010 Mayo
