PCDA presents the Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of an individual’s tireless dedication and devotion by volunteering an abundance of their time and effort to make a difference in Putnam County.

Dr. Fichter works diligently to improve the lives of others, not only by reaching for excellence in his chosen profession for over 30 years, but by going beyond what is expected in his volunteer efforts.

Some of Dr. Fichter’s volunteer activities include: Organization of an annual Christmas Dance, in which all proceeds are given to various charities, he directly impacts the efforts of PCDA by supporting our sister organization…PROTEC…, was very active in helping to retain the community’s local hospital, has coached local soccer teams, and was the recipient of the 2010 Compassionate Doctor Recognition and winner of the Patients Choice Award for three consecutive years.
