At left is a picture taken on a rainy Thursday, Oct. 13th, when the new McDonald’s Restaurant at Exit 34, Hurricane, celebrated a grand re-opening. It is hard to imagine what the property looked like in July. The photo below was taken July 12, 2011 and shows an excavator tearing down the former McDonald’s. The new McDonalds held its grand opening at 10am Thursday, October 13, 2011.

The new dining room has high-top tables and a few booths. There are also club chairs and end table situated near flat-screen TVs. They also offer free Wi-Fi and the store has a Level 2 electric car charging station.

From the size of the crowd inside and those going through the drive-through, many area residents were glad the business re-opened.
