in Putnam County
Putnam County’s most recently reported
unemployment rate of 5.4% was one of the lowest rates in West Virginia during
November (the most recent month that data is available) according to WorkForce
West Virginia, Research, Information and Analysis, December 19, 2011. Putnam
County reported an unemployment rate of 7.6% in November 2010.
The counties reporting an unemployment rate
considered Better than Average when compared to the state rate included
Jefferson (5.3), Putnam (5.4), Pendleton (5.4), Lewis (5.8), Gilmer (5.8) and
Preston (5.9). Monongalia reported the lowest unemployment rate at 4.6% for the
period.
