WEST VIRGINIA CASHIN RECYCLABLES INC. PRESENTED ALCOA QUALITY PROCESSOR AND RECYCLER OF THE YEAR AWARD

March 22, 2002 -- Only 14 of the 2,000 recyclers in the United States received the Alcoa Quality Processor and Recycler of the Year Award and Putnam County's West Virginia Cashin Recyclables, Inc. was one of those 14. The award was given in a presentation ceremony at the former WV Can facility on Pickens Road in Nitro.

On hand for the presentation, Dennis Crooker, President of Alcoa Recycling Company from Alcoa, Tennessee, said that only 14 out of the 2,000 recyclers in the nation are being presented this award this year and that WV Cashing Recyclables should be proud indeed.

WV Cashin Recyclables President Frank Baird, after receiving the award, praised Alcoa saying that "Alcoa has supported the State of West Virginia in recycling for many years." He continued, "Without the support of Alcoa, we could not be successful."

Also at today's ceremony, Greg Sayer, Executive Director of the West Virginia Association of Trash Haulers and Recyclers, presented Alcoa representatives a "YOU MADE IT HAPPEN" award because of Alcoa Recycling Company's efforts to make aluminum cans the "most recycled beverage container in Putnam County ." In the photo at left, Sayer is joined by WV Cashin Recyclables, Inc. President Frank Baird in making the presentation to Alcoa officials."
