DIAMOND ELECTRIC'S DAVID BAGNALL PRESENTED VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD BY PCDA AT ANNUAL MEETING

    The Volunteer of the Year Award is given in recognition of an individual’s volunteer efforts to the Putnam County Development Authority and towards development projects in Putnam County. 

    The Volunteer of the Year shows concern for the community, is an active leader in helping to bring about positive change in public policy, serves in volunteer positions, and shows leadership in efforts to create jobs or in the development of community services.

    The 2006 Volunteer of the Year winner has proven his spirit of volunteerism for many years and in may ways.  He serves on the board of directors of the Putnam County Development Authority, the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce board of directors, co-chairing the annual Golf Tourney, and is active with Rotary International.

     A former Newspaper reporter, he worked 15 years as a Chamber of Commerce Executive Director and now serves as Director of Community Affairs for Diamond Electric Manufacturing Corporation.

    Mr. Bagnall was given the Volunteer award at last night’s PCDA Annual Business Meeting held at Wellington’s of Scarlett Oaks in Poca.  Guest speaker for the event was Mr. Ben Hatfield, President & CEO of International Coal Group.

    During the event, Mr. Bagnall was also presented with a fresh lemon meringue pie, baked by the wife of former Eleanor Mayor Johnny Harris.  Mr. Harris also serves on the board of directors of PCDA.
