[Click here for the story] Rosensweig, an animated speaker brought a series of charts and graphs to life. He told students and SEDC members alike that preparing for the emerging global economy required literacy training for 21st century careers. The "literacy" he referred to includes: Language literacy (English, Spanish, & Chinese), Information Technology literacy, Interpersonal literacy, Ethical literacy, Multi-cultural literacy, Statistical Analysis literacy, and Multi-functional literacy (finance, global economics, global strategy, marketing, operations & accounting).

Rosensweig explained that the world's population recently reached the 6 billion milestone and by 2050, we can expect a world population of 9 billion. He expects India to surpass China as the worlds most populus nation by the year 2050.

Rosensweig's estimates some of the future's best marketing opportunities lie in Mexico, Brazil, and China. He also said that Korea has "roared back after its crisis in late 1997." "Korea is an important market and it is enjoying renewed rapid growth."

He encouraged SEDC members to learn Spanish and Chinese language and stressed the importance of math and the other areas of "literacy" mentioned earlier to make students the most "employable" in the future.
