October 20, 2006 - Governor Joe Manchin announced the 2006 Governor's Awards for Excellence in Exporting at the Governor's reception area at the State Capitol. Each of the 45 winners received a framed currency from the countries to which they export according to Leslie Drake, deputy director of the International Division, West Virginia Development Office.
From Putnam County, the companies receiving awards were:
Clark Truck Parks, Poca, West Virginia, exporting to: Sierra Leone, Jordan, Liberia, Zambia, Haiti, Chad, South Africa, Sudan.
Eagle Research Corporation, Scott Depot, West Virginia, exporting to: Taiwan, Brazil, Columbia, Venezuela and Mexico.
Kanawha Scales & Systems, Inc., Poca, West Virginia, exporting to: China, and Brazil.
Premier Solutions, Inc. Hurricane, West Virginia, exporting to: Nicaragua, Mexico and Jordan.
Congratulations to Putnam County companies for reaching beyond the borders for new and expanding business.
