November 6, 2000 - Delegate Mike Hall stopped by the Development Authority offices this morning to deliver a $25,000 Industrial Park Assistance Grant. Governor Cecil H. Underwood today awarded a $25,000 Industrial Park Assistance Grant to the Authority to help pay a portion of the costs to provide wetlands mitigation for the Putnam Business Park.
The Industrial Park Assistance Grant program is administered by the West Virginia Development Office. The grant program supports community enrichment projects that provide better living environments and/or expanded economic opportunities.
Governor Underwood said , "I am very pleased to work with you to make this worthwhile project a reality for the citizens of Putnam County."
Gary Walton, PCDA's Executive Director, said "the timing couldn't be
more perfect. We expect to receive U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Section 404
Permit approval any day." As soon as the 404 permit is granted, the Authority
plans to advertise for bids for construction of the 14 acre wetlands on the
Putnam Business Park property, according to Walton.
